Reg Braun, Chair
Having been raised in his family’s greenhouse business, Reg has two green thumbs and a lot of flower gardens that he and his wife, Allison, nurture and enjoy together. Many of their weekends are spent in their backyard with their children and grandchildren. Reg and Allison are both avid photographers and you will see many of their own photographs hanging in the offices of their business, Gallery Wealth Management. Reg is firmly committed to community service and spent ten years in leadership positions with The Morden Corn & Apple Festival. He has also served on the Morden Community Development Corporation, was founding Chairperson of the Morden Marketing Team and served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre and the Morden Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining the Board at 500 Stephen Community Centre, he served as Chairperson of the tourism marketing organization, Explore Morden Winkler. Reg was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by the Morden Area Foundation for his efforts in the local Tourism Industry. Reg is pleased to support 500 Stephen Community Resource Centre with his depth of experience working with organizations that make Morden a lively and diverse place to live and visit.

Shelly Voth, Vice Chair
Shelly is proud to serve on the Board of 500 Stephen Street. As part of the initial task force working on setting up the idea, she has enjoyed seeing a community dream become a reality. Especially exciting is the opportunity to see how individuals, businesses, and non-profits in Morden have rallied behind this project. Working for the City of Morden for the last 10 years managing the Morden’s Community Driven Immigration Initiative, Shelly is also involved on the Regional Connections Settlement Services Board, Morden’s Multicultural Winterfest Committee, and the Immigration Advisory Council for the Province of Manitoba. Shelly has lived in Morden for the past 22 years, and enjoys time with her husband Joel and two teenagers.

Niby Noble
Niby Moulick is a Financial Advisor, where she helps clients build strong financial futures with personalized advice and planning. Originally from India, Niby moved to Canada in 2019 with her husband and daughter, bringing with her a passion for community service and growth. She is committed to contributing her skills and experience to support the mission of 500 Stephen Street. Outside of her professional role, Niby enjoys traveling with her family and spending time outdoors with her two cherished puppies.

Galina Churikova
Galina Churikova is a dedicated community volunteer, cultural program organizer, and immigration file worker based in Morden, Manitoba. Originally from Kazakhstan, she immigrated to Canada in 2018 through the Morden Community Driven Immigration Initiative. Since 2019, Galina has been helping people realize their dreams of moving to Canada. She works directly with clients, filling out immigration forms and submitting applications for permanent and temporary resident visas. In addition to her professional role, Galina has been an active member of the Cultural and Educational Center Leader since her arrival. She currently serves as the center’s official representative, organizing bilingual educational programs, community events, and family activities. Galina is also a proud mother of three sons and a grandmother, continuing to support and inspire newcomer families in our community.

Cheryl Digby
Cheryl Digby has been a resident of Morden for the past 25 years, during which time she has invested herself in the community. She has served as a volunteer on the boards of Genesis House, Regional Connections, and the Morden Community Development Corporation. Additionally, Cheryl has dedicated her time to the Morden Community Gardens, Morden Thrift Store, and Morden Winterfest Committee. Cheryl established the Clark Elder Memorial Fund through the Morden Area Foundation, in memory of her son. Cheryl and her daughter Brooke oversee the annual distribution of funds for this fund. Cheryl was employed as the Community Development Officer for the City of Morden, where she oversaw impactful projects such as the Morden Community Driven Immigration Initiative and the Morden Industrial Incubator Mall. Cheryl and her husband, Ron Funk, are the owners of Keltek Safety Apparel and Deasil Custom Sewing in Morden. In their leisure time, they enjoy traveling, spending time at the lake, and visiting with family and friends.

Cathy Sandercock
Cathy has been an active Morden volunteer for over 25 years. She is a married mother of two adult children. She has recently retired from a career in Finance with a crown corporation. She is currently also involved as Food Coordinator for Morden Christmas Cheer, a board member of Pembina Valley United Way and a member of the St. Paul’s Choir. In her spare time, Cathy enjoys gardening, reading and kayaking

Michelle Sawatzky
Michelle moved to the area in 1996 and has grown deep roots in Morden since 2006. Passionately supporting local businesses and serving the community, Michelle frequently serves on various boards and takes the opportunity to volunteer in whatever capacity she can. Michelle and her husband Brian have 3 adult children and enjoy being ‘empty nesters’. Michelle loves to entertain, garden, cycle, hike, read and connect with others.
